Day 38 - Do You Hear That? ... It's the Winds of Change ...
I personally think that it is exciting and cool that we are the subject of a chess article. I hope that Jan's excitement in our blogs is reflected in his article. He could potentially affect many chess players with his article.
Today I did 0! problems in "The ChessCafe Puzzle Book."
I have been thinking about changing the 6-Circles after viewing the posts by Sancho and MDLM. I agree with their view that the basics of mates and tactics need to be gained and retained. Mulling over this, I have decided to change my plan to 8 Circles:
48 Days (My current Circle) = 10 min. = mates
48 Days = 5 min. = mates
24 Days = 2.5 min. = mates
24 Days = 1.25 min. = mates and ChessCafe Puzzle Book
24 Days = 1 min. = mates and CCPB
12 Days = 37.5 sec. = m and CCPB
6 Days = 30 sec. = m and CCPB
3 Days = 30 sec. = m and CCPB

What do you mean by my metrics? Do you mean like a data table of my hours spent or problems done?
General - I'm getting a bit worried as tomorrow marks a full week without a post. Hope your not going Orange on us...
I guess I meant a table of how your rating has improved. I'd like to improve mine! Boy howdy. Do you play only USCF? Online? Or ICC too?

I am still planning on doing blogging. Right now, I am doing Track, doing homework, and playing chess. It is a busy but fun schedule. I plan on letting everyone know about my non-blogging days when I get back onto the 2nd Circle.

I don't really have a table of my ratings online. They are about 1450-1600, depending on what site I am on. This is up from around 1350-1400 on yahoo exclusively. I have improved immensely, which feels good.

Woo hoo! Go get im Generalkaia! Cut a rug, or whatever the saying is nowadays. But don't forget your chess studies young man! Remember, women come and go but chess is forever.

Turnabout?! You're just a young'n! Want to know a funny story? My wife and I started dating when she was 18 (and yes - legal). I was 26. I had never gone to prom when I was in high school. Well, guess what? Yup. I went to prom as a 26-year-old. Well, have a good time at the dance!
