Limited Time

I'm trying to get on FICS as often as I can, but things like track, studying for the AP History Exam, and homework have kept me from playing as often as I would like. My rating is hovering aroung 1675. I'm hoping that I can get some training in on PCT, but that is also hard to do. I'll just have to find time on the weekend.

A T29 Win!

Well, I finally won a T29 game, and it's the game that will get us to the finals! It was sort of interesting. He made a big mistake early on, so it wasn't too hard from there on. Here it is:
1. e4 c5
2. Nf3 e6
3. d4 cxd4
4. Nxd4 Qb6
5. Nc3 Bc5

Big mistake. The queen is trapped after my next move.

The dust settles. I am 5 points up on the Reinfeld point scale now. Some simplification is all that is necessary now.

From here on out, it is just trading down to a won endgame.

Matrix Chess

Anyone ever heard of this guy, Bernard Parham? He has a chess system called the "Matrix." He opens games with a quick Qh5, and tries to use math and probability to win the game. Click here for more about his system. Might be good for some knights to try...

Tactics Theories

I love Temposchlucker and King of the Spill's theories. These sort of posts are what make me enjoy blogging. the community we have going allows us to give and get feedback, which I think is great.

The PCT training is slowing down, but I am still doing a bit each night. I'm also playing on FICS whenever possible. I'll get together my own theory of tactics if possible.
